Due to the energy rating, and to enhance their portability, they are not intended to run high capacity loads such as window AC units, heaters and large refrigerators, that typically consume a lot of power.  With a power range of 50W to 1,400W, they are perfect for room/task lighting (and are particularly efficient with LED lights), up to 26" TV, table fan, 12V freezer/cooler/warmer and small power tools.
